GVIC Fish Screen Rehabilitation

Scope
This project included removing existing weld wire fish screens on the existing structure and replacing them with government furnished traveling screens and a trash conveyor system, related plumbing for the trash conveyor system, installing overshot bifold gates with electrical service, a dual leaf gate, and data connections for all the new components and flow monitoring.
In addition, portions of the existing concrete on the fish return structure were removed and the entrance was reshaped. Cast-in-place concrete was placed for the bypass channel structure as well as flatwork adjacent to the structure.
Finally, Kissner worked with engineers to design a wash water supply system and platform. This project was featured in Grand Junction’s The Daily Sentinel.
